Natural Language Processing for Measuring Personality

Summary

Psylent utilises Natural Language Processing to measure personality traits and behaviours.

Natural language processing (NLP) has emerged as a promising tool for measuring personality traits from unstructured text data. This paper provides a review of the current state of research on NLP-based methods for personality assessment. We discuss the advantages of NLP over traditional personality assessment methods. We then examine the various approaches to measuring personality using NLP, including lexical-based, machine learning-based, and deep learning-based methods. We cover the findings in academia so far and also discuss the challenges and limitations of NLP-based personality measurement, such as language and cultural biases, and data quality, and privacy concerns. Finally, we provide insights and recommendations for future research directions.
